Why we should support the NSA
presence at
Menwith Hill.

We maintain that the U.S.A. is one of the U.K.'s best
friends. However there are many on the left of British politics would would
dispute this. To those folks from such as Arthur Scargill's Socialist Labour
Party and the Left Alliance we would draw your attention to the fact that whilst
there is a generally maintained belief that the doctrine of "My enemy's
enemy is my friend." is an unwise policy; It is however at times an expedient
policy and one that most nations have employed to their advantage at one time or
another.
Here are the facts;
1. Menwith Hill is regarded by the U.S.A. as one of its most important
assets. One it does not want to loose.
2. The French, the Germans and others dislike Menwith Hill as they accuse
(correctly) the NSA of spying on them.
3. If Menwith Hill was not in the U.K. it would be sited
somewhere else and this would not be in the best interests of Britain for having
it the U.K. gives us a limited access which otherwise we would be denied.
4. Further integration of the U.K. into the E.U. will be prejudicial to U.S.
interests as the independence and freedom of action of a key ally will be
further reduced.
5. The E.U. is a threat to the U.S. national interest.
6. It is in the U.S. national interest that the U.K. is not in the E.U.
We must convince the U.S. that the above is so.
